The fifth round of the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship heads north this weekend for the 25th edition of racing in the top end, the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown.
Red Bull’s Shane van Gisbergen leads teammate Jamie Whincup by 190 points heading into this weekend’s round at Hidden Valley, with both Commodore drivers hoping to return to form after Ford recorded a clean sweep of victories at The Bend in South Australia last month.
Darwin has been a happy hunting ground for Ford drivers over recent years, with the Blue Oval winning 11 of 17 races in the top end since 2015.
Drivers will arrive in the NT this morning and will receive an official Welcome Ceremony at the Darwin Waterfront this afternoon, before meeting with fans at the famous Mindil Beach this evening.
It will be a busy weekend at Hidden Valley with three races over two days (one race Saturday, two races Sunday) set to determine if a Triple Crown winner will be awarded in 2021.
The event will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and the Seven Network and streamed on Kayo.
