
Scott McLaughlin has SOLD his 1st DJR Team Penske helmet for $46,200 with all proceeds going towards charities aiding the Australian bushfire crisis.
The two-time Supercars Champion announced on his Facebook Page last week that the money raised from the auction will be split between his two favoured charities:
- Australian Red Cross
- WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service Inc)
In addition, McLaughlin will be matching the winning bid with his own personal donation.
The 2017 Supercar Helmet
The helmet was worn by McLaughlin from Darwin 2017 to Newcastle 2017. It is 1 of only 2 helmets that he wore for the year. The other helmet is with Rodger Penske.

It is also the Helmet that was worn during the famous 2017 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 Shootout Lap 2:03.8312.
Ryan Story of DJR Team Penske also added a race suit worn by McLaughlin in 2017 to the auction.

Describing the bushfire crisis and recent events as “absolutely devastating,” McLaughlin is one of a growing list of high-profile sports stars to get behind the cause.
