Xdrift Industries 1979 Ford XD Falcon

XD Falcon Drift Car Xdrift

This year we will be following the journey of the Xdrift Industries drift team.

Xdrift Industries will be competing in the 2020 Hi-Tec Oil Drift Allstars Series in their wild 1979 Ford XD Falcon “Xdrift.” We will be providing competition reports of each round as the team endeavour to steer this old school XD Falcon to the top of the series.

About Xdrift Industries

Xdrift Industries is a drift team led by owner/operator Danny Probert.

With an expertise in mechanical and fabrication, Danny has worked alongside dedicated mechanics and engineers to create a unique series of XD Falcons purpose built for drifting. His development of the XD Falcon Chassis has been ongoing since 2004.

“It would have been much easier to start this project with a Nissan or Toyota base. With all the ‘off the shelf’ bolt in upgrades we could have a completed car within a week. In short, we have gone about this the hard way by developing the XD Falcon Chassis.”

“However, the end result is a vehicle that stands out from the crowd, catches the public’s imagination and it gets people talking” said Danny.

Xdrift is the teams competition drift car. This insane XD Falcon is powered by a 700hp turbocharged 4L Barra straight-six! There have been a few major modifications made to the XD Falcon to get it drift ready.

“The front chassis in Xdrift has been extensively reworked to accommodate a Wisefab front knuckle and lock kit, and the rear suspension has been designed and manufactured in-house. We use readily available parts and have designed our cars to make repairs efficient and straightforward, maximising track time” said Xdrift Industries on their website.

A year of Competition Trial & Development

The 2019 season was a year of development for Xdrift Industries as they worked through each round of the Hi-Tec Oil Drift Allstars Series.
